Short Circuited

Something I wrote about a year ago after we moved from Deleware to California.  I have been blessed with so many new friends here in Japan, but I miss so many friends I have scattered around the USA and other countries.  Im so grateful that "through Him all things are possible."

July 2015, but still very applicable:

If I'm recalling elementary science correctly for an exchange of energy to take plce there has to be a positive and negative hooked up to generate power. Right now I'm doubling up on the negative. My battery is dead and I need the jumper cables to jump start. Two negatives still produces a dead battery. I've left it running to long, so to speak, had those cables plugged into the wrong sources of power.

You see, I like to plug into friends, my kids, activities, etc all the while these things being good, and positive sources of energy that keep me going for a while until they start to short circuit.

Right now I cannot plug into my power sources: my friends are thousands of miles away, my kids are either sparking with overuse of energy or teetering on a smoking, nearly hazardous explosion. My husband sticks to hybrid forms of energy; being more reliable and has the option for backup...wind or solar energy.

Turning back to the constant, reliable source...the Son! Jesus, I pray that the sun would be a reminder that you are the light of my life. The sun, that you created is forever faithful and rises and sets each and everyday. May the warmth of your light be my only source of heat in the coming days, weeks, months and years of my life.

Thank you friends for being a reminder that I can draw light from you, but also holding me accountable for where that source of light comes from!  I miss each of you so much!

The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat. (Psalms 19:6 NLT)
